My uncle and I went on the Jiajiuliao trail today (it was the second time I’ve been on this trail). The trail has been wrecked by a big landslide near the beginning (near Xiongkong, before the first stream crossing). The landslide is passable, but it’s a bit tricky.

When you get to the landslide take the right turn at the fork around the clump of bamboo and it circumvents the landslide.

the Xiongkong to Red River Gorge section of the trail is completely walkable but the short route has been closed and for good reasons. It is possible to still take the short route by climbing the fence that blocks it off but there are some pretty dangerous passes from past landslides!
